Online Reference Centre (Edmonton, November 23 and Calgary, November 24)
The Alberta Library is proud to present Online Reference Centre (ORC) workshops for Library staff for all TAL members in Edmonton on November 23 and Calgary on November 24th. There will be morning (9:00 am to 12:00 pm) and afternoon (1:30 - 4:00 pm) workshops for both days.

This workshop is intended for library staff who:
Provide customer service
Support education students in an academic setting
Promote education and lifelong learning
Provide professional development for other library staff.
The Online Reference Centre is a collection of online resources curated to support Alberta's curriculum for Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School and High School students.
Registrants in this workshop will learn how to easily connect Alberta K-12 students to learning resources that will help with homework, reports and test preparation directly tied to what they are learning in school.

How to quickly connect learners with resources relating to what they are learning in school
An overview of the resources available
An overview of support materials for working with K-12 patrons
Ideas for promoting and building awareness for the ORC in public library setting
